Transformational Breath Journey

What is breathwork?

Before I explain what transformational breath work is, I will first tell you briefly about the breath itself. Breathing is the most viable and important thing in the world for us humans. The oxygen we breathe goes to all our cells in our body. Our life here on earth begins with our first breath when we are born and our life here on earth ends when we let out our last breath. Without oxygen, we die, so we can say with certainty that breathing oxygen is essential for us. There are still all sorts of layers between oxygen or no oxygen. In fact, it is also true that we get sick when our oxygen is contaminated or when the ratios of oxygen are not balanced. We can also get sick when our body can absorb less oxygen for whatever reason. For instance, in the worst case scenario, illness can cause our lungs to stop functioning properly, with the difference between temporary, long-term and permanent damage.

How can our breath cause complaints?

When we start holding our breath due to startle reactions, fear, tension, avoiding unpleasant feelings, illness, etc., blockages can develop in the body. These blockages can cause a variety of complaints in the body, such as pain, nagging feelings, tension, emptiness, anger, sadness, but also fatigue, hyperventilation, panic attacks, intestinal complaints, cold hands and/or feet, headaches, poor sleep and much more. You don't have an explanation for it, but that's what you feel.

Often the signals start small and you don't even realise that something has changed or happened. When you miss the signals, they get a little worse and worse. When at a certain point you still miss these signals or you do notice them but ignore them, these feelings/complaints become really annoying and you really start to experience them. It is your body that is now really sounding the alarm and wants to tell you that something needs to change or at least be looked at. There are many other symptoms and conditions that can arise from disturbed breathing. I won't go further into those now. This is a brief explanation to show how important our breath is.

You might also now imagine that you can therefore also use the breath to heal and dissolve these blockages. By actively ensuring that oxygen can get to these blocked parts, it creates space and passage again.

Breathwork is therefore the deployment of our own breathing through certain techniques in order to find and resolve our complaints. In general, I use conscious connected breathing, but when something else is needed, there are also other techniques. The body itself then often shows what it wants to release or move and when necessary I support you in this by using pressure points.

Now I can hear you thinking; It can't be that simple. Yes and no. It is simple in that sense that our breathing is sufficient and we always have that. However, when you work with breathwork you can come across very uncomfortable, sometimes painful and intense parts of yourself. It is enormously healing and here lies the power of breathwork. Feeling completely what lives in you, wants to be heard and seen by using what you already have, your breath and thus letting your body tell you what it needs.

How can a breathwork journey help you?

This journey brings you in touch with your body and takes you out of your head. By actively focusing on your breathing, it detaches you from your thoughts, connects you to your body and the energy flowing through it. Through breathing techniques, you support your body in distributing oxygen and removing waste products. Becoming aware of your breathing pattern and breaking through it makes you feel freer and lighter and increases your resistance. You get more energy and desire to move. You open up your breathing with these breathing techniques and this makes you more receptive to the valuable on your path. It can dissolve blockages. The emotions that surface during a breath journey are different for everyone. It may be that sadness comes up, or fear or anger. Often feelings that had stuck somewhere in your body. The inner wisdom of your body helps you let go of what you don't need (anymore). Your breathing contains pain, emotions and blockages from your subconscious. By always breathing in the same way, you can bypass them. Breathing techniques allow you to breathe through these emotions, feel them, experience them and free yourself from them. In addition, you get very close to yourself. You breathe easier and intuitively feel what is good for you and what is not. You are also better able to distinguish between what is yours and what is someone else's. Spiritual experiences come your way more easily because you are completely open. Last but not least, it relaxes your body and your mind.

What else can you expect in a "Breathing Journey"? 

A breath journey takes about one and a half to two hours. With the preliminary and follow-up discussions, you will spend about two and a half to three hours with me in practice. First I will give you a preparatory explanation, then we will zoom in on your request for help. We will agree together on the do's and don'ts so that you can feel completely safe and at ease while ‘travelling’. This is a high priority for me. Next, you take a seat on the mattress and we will start the breathing session using consciously connected breathing and music. This will help you get into your body and your inner world. You will go on an inner journey that will bring you exactly what you need and can handle in that moment. This whole time I will be with you with my full attention and support you in all that is. Where and when needed I will help you to release energy through pressure points, soft touch and sound. This only happens after we have agreed in the preliminary discussion that this feels right for you. Nothing happens without your consent. After your breath journey and when you have recovered at your own pace, we will discuss what has come up and I can answer your questions.

To be able to go into depth, you need a sense of safety and sincere attention, so that it feels safe enough to explore these parts of yourself. I offer you this safety and complete sincere attention. A Breath Journey with someone else here with me is also possible. It could be that you like doing this together with someone or that this makes you feel safer.
